Where are you going when you die?
Death, it has been said is the ultimate statistic, 1 out of 1 people dies.
You are not an accident, a mistake or a shame to your parents.
“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out: you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God - you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvellously made! I worship in adoration - what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.” Psalm 139: 13 - 16.
Father God created you out of love for relationship with him. Just as a loving Man and Woman procreate out of their love for each other and express their mutual love towards their child so God created you out of love.
Adam and God shared everything, they were like Father and son and their relationship was close, pure and wholly unique.
Satan tempted first Eve then Adam to sin. Both Adam and Eve succumbed to sin. Sin separated man from God ever since Adam sinned. Jesus came to bridge the gap between man and God. He did that by dying a sinner’s death as an innocent man thus paying the price for sin and enabling relationship with God once again.
“For God so loved the world (you) that He gave his only Son that whosoever (if you) believe in Him he (you) will not die but have everlasting life!”
So how do I become a Christian?
A) Acknowledge the sin in your life and pray to God that you are sorry. (The Bible calls this repenting - repent means turn around and walk the other way - in other words don’t keep sinning once you’ve said sorry)
B) Believe that Jesus died for your sin, bridging the gap between God and man, and that He rose again from the dead conquering death and sin forever!
C) Confess Jesus as your Lord (as the Captain of your ship) and give him the reins of your life so that you can have His help to steer your life through the storms of life.
D) Declare - tell someone about your decision! Jesus says those who deny Him will be denied by Him.
E) Embrace the Holy Spirit - Receive the Power of the Holy Spirit - the third Member of the trinity as your Guide, He will “lead you into all truth” and will make God’s Word, The Bible, become alive to you!
